We think partnerships make the world go round. Certainly in Namibia, a large country the size of Germany and France combined and a population of only 2 million people, we need to share all the skills and resources we have.
Besides our producers, we also work together with organisations that share our values and goals. Desert Research Foundation of Namibia (DRFN), Integrated Rural Development and Nature Conservation (IRDNC) and Nyae Nyae Development Foundation of Namibia to name a few.
We are a non-profit Trust based in Windhoek but work with rural communities in some of the most remote regions of Namibia. We believe in sustainable development, so where possible we assist groups in managing as many processes as they can. We have developed a Craft Tool Book as a training resource for producer groups and once or twice a year we bring representatives together to share and learn from each other.
Our team is composed of a very diverse and fun group of people that share common values to help the most deprived. We are all committed to the cause but we also strive to market high quality and innovative products and provide the best service to all of our customers, producer groups and partner organizations.
Karin Le Roux has an art background and draws inspiration from the amazing people that work with OMBA - producers, staff and volunteers ! She has worked in the craft sector in Namibia for 20 years.
Isabel has worked as a volunteer for OMBA for the last year and a half responsible for marketing. Her business skills, passion and commitment towards our mission have been essential to help us market our products local and internationally.
Jacky comes with a very strong financial background to help OMBA work in a more effective and efficient way. In this way, we want to have a greater impact on the producers we support. She's passionate about what we do, and committed to making a difference!
Sylvia manages our stores and makes sure that all of our products comply to our high quality standards. Sylvia enjoys working and dealing with the producers from all across the country as they teach her about all the wonderful products made in this vast country.
Linda is the sales person in our shop in the Namibia Craft Centre. Linda has a wicked sense of humour and with her beautiful smile, she brings a special touch to all the products she sells to tourists and visitors to the centre.
Alison makes sure that all our books are in order. She disappears into the office most days to do the number crunching and to ensure that our producers are always paid on time.
