‘San’ is a collective name for the indigenous hunter-gatherer groups that are considered the first nations of southern Africa. 

These beautiful collecting basket of the Khwe San people of northern Namibia, traditionally used for collecting wild fruits, nuts and edible tubers, are of a nearly extinct style that was revived in recent years.
